Huh... when was that poem written? There is a beautiful, I mean utterly gorgeous, song (if 'song' is the right word and in this case I'm not sure) called 'Greener Than God's Dream' by a Persian-American musical trio called Axiom of Choice.

ReplyDeleteAnd Noelle, smarty pants, the line is "greener than the dreams of God" and is not from some band but from an old Islamic--Sufi?--poet. Sometimes the dream voice of one's poem wishes to share one of its favorite lines. When it's right, when it's time. This phenomenon is hardly unprecedented, as you may know, and as you may not know if you have not done very much reading
